We recently had the opportunity to photograph an engagement at Monarch Beach, the Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach’s private access beach, so we thought it would be a great opportunity to highlight what an amazing wedding venue it is as well! Monarch Beach
Because Laguna is such a desirable area, lots of our beaches are quite popular and often crowded. This makes quiet spots like Monarch Beach all the more special.
It’s actually a private beach that’s only accessible to guests of the Waldorf Astoria hotel and the residents of the private community of homes along the beach, which is why it’s so quiet and peaceful. We photographed an engagement there recently, and it was so amazing to have the whole beach to ourselves for such an intimate moment!
Monarch Beach is located in Dana Point and has the most incredible ocean views. Sunset there is absolutely magical. We love this beach and think it’s the perfect location for weddings!

The resort offers quick and convenient shuttle rides to the private access beach, so we can sneak down there for golden hour photos, and this romantic moment is amplified by the warm light as the sun sets over the ocean.
