Laguna Beach Engagement Photos at Surf & Sand
We actually shot Ron & Sydney’s proposal back in April, so this was our second time spending the afternoon with them. Their proposal was incredible – Ron really pulled out all the stops to make Sydney feel amazing and loved, and we were so honored to capture it for them.
Not only are these two stunning, but they’re both sooo kind and clearly madly in love with each other. Their love and joy are so contagious!
They’re getting married next summer at Surf & Sand in Laguna Beach, so choosing the resort as their engagement photo location held extra significance. We put a lot of pre-planning into this shoot, creating a more detailed and creative mood board than usual with specific shot ideas, which made the afternoon both stress-free and extra playful.
We had so much fun at their shoot and loved experimenting with some less traditional posing. Ron and Sydney were both relaxed and having a great time, and as a result, you can feel their energy through the photos. They even brought along some champagne to celebrate, which added to the fun and the glamorous feel of their shoot!
Classic Car Engagement Photos
In addition to getting to use the environment at the hotel to tell their story (check out the luggage cart and elevator shots!), we took a classic car up into the hills of Laguna for another round of photos.
Photographing Ron & Sydney in the 1967 Chevy Corvette Sting Ray convertible was an absolute dream and added an extra layer of style for their shoot. The classic car looked right at home cruising through the hills, and paired with their formal looks, it brought such timeless California glamour. It was the perfect way to round out their gallery with a mix of playful, stylish, and romantic images.
