Idyllwild Engagement Session | Taylor & Paul

Taylor & Paul wanted to get out of Los Angeles and shoot their engagement session somewhere in nature. I was instantly very excited! After going through a few different options we settled on Idyllwild! It turned out to be the perfect spot for them. Idyllwild is very beautiful, quiet and is surrounded by tall pine trees. We started the session off by walking around town, grabbing a coffee, sat under the trees, and listened to some locals play music. We captured a ton of candids and enjoyed everything this place had to offer.

After we made our rounds, Taylor & Paul changed into their second outfit. We drove about 5 minutes to viewing point called “inspiration point”. It turned out to be a beautiful view of nature and one of the best sunsets I’ve ever seen. The colors were unreal and we got some amazing images together. I was so honored to be a part of this special engagement getaway!

Taylor & Paul Q&A:

What were your concerns before the engagement shoot?

Looking like a natural couple on camera because we aren’t used to shooting!

What did you think about shooting your session in Idyllwild?

The shoot went great. Chris was professional and focused and made us so comfortable!

Why were engagement photos important to you?

Our engagement shoot was important because we wanted to document this special time in our lives, but also because the holidays are coming up, and we wanted to send out an extra special holiday card this year to her friends and family.

Why do you think couples should do engagement sessions?

I think it is a wonderful idea to capture you and your fiancé in this short, special moment of your lives. I can only think how these pictures will become more and more precious as we grow and look back.
