We were truly honored to capture Jen and Brian engagement session at Crystal Cove State Park recently and are delighted to share the details below.

A Relaxed, Effortless Experience

When Jen and Brian arrived for their engagement session, they weren’t entirely sure what to expect. Like many couples, they were a bit skeptical about being in front of the camera, worried that posing might feel awkward or unnatural as they do not normally love being in front of the camera. 

We are always mindful of this going into a shoot, so we focus on focus on creating a natural, relaxed experience with organic poses that feel effortless. Within moments nerves melt away and couples are often surprised at how easy it becomes, and that’s because we truly understand how uncomfortable it can be to be in front of the camera. 

Instead of forced poses, we encouraged them to simply be in the moment—laughing, embracing, and enjoying their time together. By relying on angles, movement, and lighting, we bring each image to life—helping couples not only feel amazing during the session but also walk away with timeless photos that reflect their love beautifully.

As a result, not only did the session feel effortless for Jen & Brian but when they saw the final images, they were in awe. Their friends even commented that these were some of the most beautiful engagement photos they had ever seen!

The Perfect Outfits for a Coastal Session

Jen wore an elegant white dress that caught the ocean breeze beautifully, pairing effortlessly with Brian’s relaxed, neutral outfit. Barefoot in the sand, their look felt easy and natural—perfectly in step with the laid-back feel of Crystal Cove.

We find that picking soft, neutral colors for clothing always works beautifully for beach engagement sessions, allowing the couple to stand out while harmonizing with the surroundings.
