Hualalai is located in Kailua-Kona, on the Big Island, Hawaii. Kona is home to some of the most stunning wedding destinations in Hawaii. Julia and I travel to this region at least twice a year, and it truly feels like a second home to us. There’s something about the laid-back, peaceful, and magical atmosphere that makes it the perfect setting for a dream wedding.

Getting to capture Joey and Sydney’s special day here was an absolute joy. We were able to do what we love in a place we love—and it doesn’t get much better than that!

Four Seasons Hualalai Resort Elopement Wedding

Joey and Sydney wanted a simple yet meaningful wedding experience—just the two of them in an intimate beachside ceremony, allowing them to fully soak in this moment together. They planned to have a larger reception at a later date to celebrate with their family and friends. The result was a heartfelt, romantic day filled with love and laughter. It’s the same spirit as this intimate wedding in Sweden we photographed a few years back.

We had so much fun capturing their love story through timeless portraits on the beach and around the resort’s stunning grounds. From dreamy veil shots to playful moments of the couple splashing in the pool, their wedding truly embodied a lighthearted and spirited celebration.
