We’re always so honored when couples choose us to photograph their engagement, and especially honored when we get to be there for the proposal itself. That was definitely the case with Noam and Sharon’s beach proposal in Laguna last month.
As Southern California photographers, we’re lucky to have the chance to shoot at the beach often, but this particular evening was really special! Planning A Secluded Beach Proposal in Laguna for Noam and Sharon
Noam actually reached out to us a while back because he and Sharon were planning a trip to California from Germany, where they live, and he knew he wanted to propose while they were here.
He was really hoping for it to be nice and private, with no crowds around or a visible photographer nearby. He wanted to make sure the moment was just the two of them and super romantic.
Given how crowded Laguna usually is, we had to think a little outside the box to find a good location for him! But we did some scouting and were able to find the perfect spot off the beaten path.
The location we found was on the cliff right above the famous Treasure Island arch and in front of the Montage, Laguna Beach. Even though it required hopping a small railing to get there, it was quiet and secluded, and exactly what Noam had in mind.

Once Noam and Sharon were settled in, they had an intimate picnic on the cliffs while waiting for the sun to set. The setting couldn’t have been more picture-perfect!
Then eventually, in his own time, Noam got down on one knee and proposed. Chris was able to capture the whole moment from across the cliffs.
