I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day to be able to capture engagement photos at Newport Beach for Megan & Tim.
When Megan & Tim were deciding on locations in Orange County for their engagement photos the decision was easy. Newport Beach was their happy place and it’s easy to see why. The picturesque harbor is a charming landscape, especially at golden hour. Add a sailboat into the mix, and you have the perfect recipe for a stunning and memorable engagement shoot.

Newport Beach is an idyllic location for an engagement shoot, especially for couples who love the ocean. The expansive harbor boasts picturesque views surrounded by beautiful homes and luxury yachts.
The harbor’s calm waters make it an ideal spot for enjoying a leisurely boat ride to admire the scenery. We rented a small sailing boat to explore the harbor and Balboa Island.
Balboa Island is a charming and picturesque destination known for its quaint streets, delicious eateries, boutique shops, and beautiful waterside homes. It offers a perfect blend of coastal charm and upscale amenities.
Being out on the water against this backdrop of charming coastal scenery with boats gently rocking on the water, makes for a versatile shoot, where we captured a mixture of elegant and relaxed images.
Engagement Session Outfits
The couple opted for two different outfits for their engagement shoot. They started with more casual, relaxed attire complementing coastal vibes with crisp white tops paired with denim jeans.
As the sun set and the evening drew closer they changed into more formal outfits with Tim wearing a black suit with a white shirt and Megan in a flowing floral dress. We included snacks and popped champagne to add a luxurious feel.
With the sailboat gently rocking on the water, and the sun dipping below the horizon, it created a timeless and romantic scene for the couple to get lost in the moment, allowing me to capture some beautiful authentic, candid shots.
Golden Hour On the Water
When the sun is setting it casts a soft, warm light bathing everything it touches in a golden glow. It creates a naturally flattering environment, softening shadows, enhancing skin tones, and adds a dreamy, ethereal quality to every shot.
