Garrington & Madelyn live in Long Beach so we walked the boardwalk, took some photos at the beach, and ended up on their rooftop during Sunset Hour! We had such amazing light and a great view of the city. A perfect finish to a care-free shoot. Scroll down to read the Q&A and see all the images from start to finish.
What made you both decide on Long Beach for your perfect Engagement Shoot location?
We met back east in NY where I grew up and we always knew we’d end up in California where he grew up. Long Beach is our home. It’s where we moved in together for the first time. It’s a special place to us.
Some couples want engagement sessions and others don’t; why did you decide to have one?
There’s no denying that this photoshoot was for me. He was a good sport about it. He knows how much I savor photographs for the memories that they hold. We are very happy together and enjoying our engagement, why not make a record of it. It’s something that we can share with our kids and grandkids one day.
What was your favorite part of the Shoot?
Overall, it felt like we were on a sort of date. We never do anything frivolous like this. My favorite aspect of it was that we were able to blur out all the passerby strangers and just focus on us. That was pretty cool!
What recommendations can you give future couples when planning an engagement shoot?
Don’t overthink it! You’ll be in good hands with Chris! He has a way to make you feel at ease during the process…like he’s just capturing the moment during your date while providing just the right amount of direction. So just chill and enjoy!
