I have to start this off by saying the simple and elegant wedding dress Shannon wore for her Orange County wedding day was one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen, and it tied in perfectly with the simple yet elegant theme of her wedding with Desmond.
What I love about Shannon and Desmond’s wedding though is how much of the Corona del Mar area I get to show off in their photos.
Their wedding took place in three spots: the Community Church Congregational for their ceremony, Crystal Cove for some bridal party photos, and then Five Crowns for the reception. It was the perfect wedding day sequence since it started at the church, to the beach, then to a hotspot restaurant.
Shannon And Desmond’s Orange County Wedding Day
The Community Church Congregational is a cute little church. It has great natural light throughout, and I loved the shots of Shannon and Desmond walking down the aisle and ringing the bell after they got married.
While some weddings have a lot going on, Shannon and Desmond’s didn’t. They went with a simple theme, which let their wedding and the photos of it breathe. It was easy to focus on the important moments that might’ve otherwise been missed, and I was happy to deliver some great shots of their ceremony to them.
Next up, the bridal party and I headed to Crystal Cove to take some photos. One of the things I love most about this spot is the lighting. It was beautiful that day, and the way it looked wrapping around the bridal party on the cliffside added an extra layer of vibrancy to these photos.
The last stop for this wedding was Shannon and Desmond’s reception at Five Crowns, one of my favorite wedding and reception venues in Orange County. In fact, because I’m one of Five Crowns’ preferred photography vendors, that’s how Shannon and Desmond found me.
At the reception, we got plenty of great, candid moments. People were dancing, smiling, and laughing. Capturing all the emotion here and earlier in the day was a true joy, especially because so many people traveled from out of town to be there. Desmond’s sister even came all the way from Hong Kong!
Final Thoughts on this Beautiful Orange County wedding
Being able to capture Shannon and Desmond’s special day was definitely one for the books. They were fun to work with, and everyone had a great time at every location we visited during the day.

Feedback From Shannon and Desmond
“Chris is talented and awesome to work with!! Communication is great and very flexible. We are not always comfortable in front of the camera but Chris made everything easy. On the wedding day he captured all the special details so beautifully. He managed multiple photo locations and our large families efficiently and with courtesy. He has such a way of letting things happen naturally and capturing all the little moments in between. He was very receptive to any specific poses/props/backdrops we wanted. The day was an absolute dream and we are beyond thrilled with the memories Chris captured for us. He was also SO fast on getting our photos back to us post wedding. Highly recommended!”
